The Jordan Esports Federation (JEF) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with King Hussein Business Park (KHBP) in Amman. KHBP announced the deal on Sunday in a statement published on its website. Prince Omar bin Faisal, President of the JEF, attended the signing.
Under the MoU, the two organisations will jointly host and organise specialised competitions on the KHBP campus. They will also receive international delegations and official guests who travel to those events. The partners plan to cooperate on media and marketing, shared education, training and community projects, and knowledge exchange.
Neither party has disclosed financial terms or the length of the agreement.
KHBP CEO Eng. Ammar Ezzeddin said the partnership "builds on our ongoing efforts to create an enabling environment for institutions, initiatives and high-potential sectors, and to establish KHBP as a hub for innovation and technology." He added: "We look forward to helping the sector thrive and to hosting more tournaments and events that put Jordanian talent in the spotlight and raise the Kingdom's profile in this field."
JEF Vice President Hazem Bawab called the partnership "a significant step in our drive to develop the esports industry in Jordan and elevate the standard of local, regional and international competitions and activities." He said the federation looks forward to "drawing on the setup and capabilities that KHBP offers to scale our work, nurture young talent and launch joint programmes."
According to The Esports Radar, the JEF, which the report describes as the government-recognised regulator for esports in the country, is based at the park in West Amman. The report says past events at THE ARC, the arena inside the park, include the fourth Arab Esports League, a Women's Esports Championship and Red Bull Login, which served as Jordan's national final stage in Dota 2 and Counter-Strike 2.
Esports Insider's source also notes that PocketGamer.biz reports Pocket Gamer Connects Jordan takes place on 7 and 8 November in Amman.
