Adrian Meronk of LIV Golf won the Dunhill Links Championship on Sunday in St Andrews, Scotland, closing with a 4-under 68 to defeat Casey Jarvis and secure a full membership card on the European tour.
The 33-year-old Polish golfer's victory provides him with tour status at a critical moment. Meronk was the European tour's player of the year in 2023 despite being omitted from the Ryder Cup team in Rome that year. He joined LIV Golf in 2024.
The win at Dunhill Links, a traditional Scottish links event, marks Meronk's path back into regular European tour competition. His defection to the Saudi-backed LIV Golf circuit had complicated his standing on the European tour, which has moved toward integration with the PGA Tour and Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. Full membership status secures Meronk's eligibility to compete in European tour events and accumulate ranking points without needing exemptions or invitations.
Meronk's 2023 season had positioned him as one of Europe's top performers before the Ryder Cup selection controversy and his subsequent move to LIV Golf.
