Paper Rex has parted ways with captain d4v41 and Jinggg, two Masters Toronto winners, according to Esports Insider. The Singapore organisation confirmed the departures in a farewell video, which said d4v41 had been with the team since its founding in 2020.
d4v41 started on Paper Rex's CS:GO roster before moving with the team to VALORANT. Jinggg joined on 28 September 2021. Neither player has named a new team. d4v41 said in the video that he is moving to a new team. Jinggg wrote on X that he was excited about what comes next.
The split follows a difficult end to 2026. Paper Rex finished as runners-up at Masters Santiago and Masters London earlier in the year. At Champions in Shanghai, the team lost 2-0 to LOUD in the upper-bracket quarter-finals on 7 October. A 2-1 loss to T1 in lower-bracket round one on 9 October ended its run.
The source says the organisation is owned by IMPLS Entertainment Pte Ltd and that the departures were not forced by the league. Riot has cut the number of partner teams per region from ten to eight for 2027–28, leaving 32 across four regions. Paper Rex's Pacific partner place is secure, with eight seeded spots at Kickoff in January 2027. Four more places go to teams that come through open qualifiers, which the source says are due to begin in November.
