Kinetic Games announced Resonance, the next major update for Phasmophobia, in Development Preview #22 on November 2, 2026. The update is set to land in late November 2026, according to the announcement as reported by ESTNN.

Resonance bundles several updates that Kinetic had planned to ship separately. The team said shipping them at different times "was looking unreasonable" for both the team and players. The headline piece is the move to Unity 6, which Kinetic says targets bugs, common crashes, memory leaks and lighting. Kinetic also says the real performance gain will only become clear once players run the build and file reports through the Help Centre.

The content side changes the Sound Sensor and Voice Recognition. On the Sound Sensor map, looping sounds stay visible, while one-off sounds ping once and disappear. Sounds from other floors are filtered out. During a hunt, the speed of a moving marker can hint at the ghost type. Voice Recognition gains a new function: players can ask the ghost to open a door, flip a switch or throw something. A new Journal page will list the phrases that work.

Kinetic has not yet set the exact Resonance day and hour, the full voice phrase list, the full set of graphical presets or a date for the cosmetics update. Patch notes will follow on release day.
