Gen.G swept LYON 3-0 in the second Worlds 2026 quarterfinal, eliminating North America's last team. The LCS is now out of Worlds.
Gen.G took blue side in all three games, as the team with the better record earned first choice. Game one lasted 32 minutes, with Gen.G finishing on 19 kills to LYON's 8. Game two ended in just over 25 minutes. According to the report, Ruler stood out on Ashe, and Canyon stole a dragon on Jarvan IV. Gen.G then used the Baron buff to break into LYON's base. Game three was decided in a Dragon Soul fight, after which Gen.G claimed Baron and wiped all five LYON players without losing anyone. The report credits top laner Kiin with controlling his lane throughout the series.
Gen.G now face Invictus Gaming in the semifinal. The report says iG are in their first Worlds semifinal since 2019. Gen.G previously beat iG 1-0 in a best-of-one match in the first round of the Swiss Stage, and this time the two teams meet in a best-of-five series. The report states that the best-of-five Grand Final follows on November 14.
According to the report, Gen.G are guaranteed at least 3rd-4th place and US$400,000. The organization has not yet reached a Worlds final, and its most recent Worlds trips ended at the 3rd-4th stage. The report also notes that the LCK is seeking a fifth straight Summoner's Cup.
